Multiple Dwelling Registration Deadline Approaching

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) requires that Multiple Dwelling Registration (MDR) for residential buildings with three or more units—including most cooperatives and condominiums—are filed each year. This year’s deadline to file MDRs is August 31, 2025.

Owners must file MDRs to avoid penalties and preserve certain legal defenses, among other reasons. Registrations must be submitted to both HPD and the Department of Finance and must include accurate contact and ownership details.

If you have questions about your building’s registration or need help with compliance, please contact your trusted KMWB attorney.
