KMWB Welcomes New Attorneys

KMWB is pleased to announce the recent hiring of three new talented and highly skilled attorneys to serve our clients better and enhance our capabilities in all aspects of its real estate practice. These new hires reflect the firm’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional legal services and meeting the evolving needs of our client’s complex real estate matters.

The following attorneys have joined KMWB:

Jeffrey Levine, Partner

Mr. Levine practices as trial counsel in the firm’s Supreme Court Litigation Department and specializes in commercial real estate disputes and commercial landlord-tenant matters. Having tried many cases in the Supreme and Civil Courts involving complicated commercial lease issues, Levine is a recognized commercial litigator. Mr. Levine advises owners in various operations issues and matters involving commercial lease violations, mechanics liens, building demolitions, insurance requirements, declaratory judgments, breach of contract, contract enforcement, Yellowstone injunctions and preliminary and permanent injunctions. Mr. Levine also has significant experience in negotiating and drafting various commercial lease modification and extension agreements, related lease documentation and complex settlement agreements.

Efrem Fischer, Of Counsel

Mr. Fischer has a long and distinguished career representing landlords, REITs, developers, manufacturers, and property managers in complex commercial and real estate litigation matters.

Prior to joining KMWB, he practiced with several boutique litigation firms before Federal and State courts in both New York and New Jersey, as well as the Delaware Bankruptcy courts. His career began as one of the youngest Assistant Attorneys General with the State of New York, where he represented the New York State Department of Correctional Services and the New York State Division of Parole, trying several cases to verdict and arguing numerous appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Appellate Divisions of the State of New York.Mr. Fischer has also published several articles in the New York Law Journal regarding commercial real estate litigation.

Nicole Sosnowski, Senior Associate

Ms. Sosnowski’s practice areas include the defense of administrative proceedings before various City and State agencies, Supreme Court overcharge complaints, and performing various regulatory and building-wide audits for clients.

Prior to joining KMWB, Ms. Sosnowski’s experience included the defense of boards of directors and managers of cooperatives and condominiums,the representation of landlords, developers, and management companies in connection with residential and commercial real estate litigation, and landlord-tenant proceedings.

Michael Cuttitta, Partner

Additionally, KMWB is proud to announce the promotion of Michael Cuttitta to Partner. This promotion reflects Cuttitta’s outstanding contributions to the firm, exceptional legal skills, and dedication to client service.

Mr. Cuttitta joined the firm as Of Counsel in 2022 and has since demonstrated exemplary leadership, professionalism and commitment to the firm’s core values. Mr. Cuttitta has extensive experience in litigating matters relating to rent overcharge claims, J-51 and 421-a tax benefits, before the Supreme Court and the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR). He has represented clients in proceedings before and against various agencies in Article 78 proceedings, involving overcharge allegations, exemption from regulation, substantial rehabilitation, and major capital improvement projects, amongst other issues.
